These lovely St. Therese sacrifice beads are made with painted wooden beads. The 1 inch St. Therese medal and 1 inch crucifix are solid bronze, hand cast in the United States from antique pieces. The medal's reverse has the words "Saint Therese of the Child Jesus" in Latin.
Saint Therese of Liseux, the Little Flower of Jesus, counted her sacrifices for God on a string of beads. For each sacrifice or act of love for God, move a bead toward the crucifix. For each sin, move one away.
"Celine writes, “She accustomed us to obey through love, to please the dear Jesus, to make small sacrifices for Him. We had a kind of ‘rosary’ to count these acts (‘a rosary of acts’); it was composed of movable beads which one could slide on a string.”
