Marygrace asked for carrot cake for her birthday. I might have shredded to many carrots. 

I found the recipe here. It was the best carrot cake we've ever had!

She insisted on making the cream cheese frosting. I don't have the recipe for it. I think she just makes it up as she goes along.

Did I mention this was the best carrot cake we've ever had? Oh. my. goodness.

We had a green salad and added the rest of the shredded carrots.

We also had Greek pasta salad and Rosemary bread for dinner.

Everyone was home to celebrate Marygrace's birthday, although Adrianna was taking a nap wit the baby. 

Happy birthday, Marygrace. You light up our lives, especially with your big blue eyes. :-) We love you!!!!

My baby is four!

I can't believe how fast these past 4 years have gone by. It seems just like yesterday that we brought you home from the hospital. I remember praying a novena to St. Therese to be able to have just one more baby (actually, I'm still praying for one more baby) and getting a rose from the most unexpected person- our mechanic who was handing out roses all week in honor of St. Valentine's day. St. Therese has always been your special intercessor, but so have the poor souls in purgatory. During one of my pre-natal visits my OB told me he wanted me to have an epidural since you were our seventh child and my previous 5 births were unmedicated. I told him that I was not going to have an epidural because I was going to offer up the labor for the souls in purgatory. Little did I know that you would be born 11 days early on the feast of All Souls. We love you so much, Maria Therese Rose! May Our Lady and St. Therese shower you with many graces.

O Heavenly Father, I commend my child to Thy care. Be Thou her God and Father; and mercifully supply whatever is lacking in me through frailty or negligence. Strengthen her to overcome the corruptions of the world, whether from within or without; and deliver her from the secret snares of the enemy. Pour Thy grace into her heart, and strengthen and multiply in her the gifts of Thy Holy Spirit, that she may daily grow in grace and in knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; and so, faithfully serving Thee here, may come to rejoice in Thy presence hereafter. Amen.

A lovely gift

from a lovely young lady. Molly's daughter Siena made me this beautiful St. Anne bracelet for my birthday and I absolutely love it! It is so well made and the beads used are so soft and it just happens to be my favorite color. I have not taken it off since I got on Friday. Isn't it so beautiful? What a talented young lady she is! Thank you so much, Siena. You made my day very special.

Hard to believe that our little girl is 15 years old today. You are so beautiful and so talented. You are so much like your daddy. I cannot imagine our lives without you.
