2 cups gluten free flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup chopped apples
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Grease a 9 inch pie pan.
Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
In a mixer, mix the butter until the mixture is crumbly.
Add the remaining ingredients to the mixing bowl, stirring until well blended. The dough should be very sticky.
Grease the pie pan with butter. Pat out to about 1 inch thick.
Lightly brush milk on top of the scones and sprinkle with sparkling sugar if desired.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
