This month, which is dedicated to the suffering souls in purgatory, I'm giving away a beautiful black rosary. I will pick the winner on November 8th, the last day of the octave of the feast of All Saints.
The Aves are 8mm black Onyx beads. The Paters are 10mm fire polished Czech beads. The Miraculous Medal center is 1 inch long and the Thistle Crucifix is 2 1/4 inches long. They are solid bronze and are hand cast from antique pieces. There is also a small St. Joseph bronze medal attached to the Rosary. This rosary is perfect for that special man in your life.
Please remember to pray for the faithful departed. There is so much we can do for the Church Suffering.
The Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great
A prayer Catholics should be familiar with is that of St. Gertrude the Great (A.D. 1256-1301/2), who was told by Our Lord in a private revelation, that when the following prayer is prayed earnestly, 1,000 souls will be released from Purgatory. Because of the desire to unite the prayer with the merits of the Mass, it is most powerful:
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood Of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home and within my own family. Amen.
