Apple picking field trip

Today was the perfect day to pick apples. On our way home from dropping Marygrace off at college from Fall break, I took the 3 little kids apple picking. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! The kids and I picked golden delicious, red delicious and granny smith apples. I'm hoping to make lots of apple sauce for canning and a few apple pies to freeze, although in our family they won't last more than a day or two. We might have to go back with the rest of the kids next week. I think the teenagers wil really enjoy getting their own 1/2 bushel of apples so they can make their own pies. :)
